Abstract

Despite having its roots in the Japanese automotive industry, Lean philosophy has been successfully applied in many companies of different sectors. In recent years several studies have been done regarding the potential of this managerial technology that may transform the healthcare organizations. The objective of this theoretical research paper is to conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with bibliometric analysis on application of Lean healthcare in Brazil. The aim is to understand the advancement of this research field in Brazil, investigating how Lean thinking has been put into practice and how this innovation has helped those companies to deliver more value to its customers. Peer reviewed articles were searched in 9 data sources.  At first, a total of 5,473 articles were identified, which were reduced to 2,983 after Endnote software duplicate reference analysis. 789 articles were screened, after reviewing the adherence to the topic. Resulting in a sample of only 9 articles, after all inclusion criteria were match. The results suggest that Lean thinking has been applied successfully in many healthcare organizations. However, the research field in Brazil is quite new, having a great potential to increase.

Mestre em Engenharia Industrial pela Tallinn University of Technology - TUT (Estônia, 2012) e Royal Institute of Technology - KTH (Suécia, 2013). Pós-Graduado em Gestão Industrial pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais(2010). Graduado em Engenharia de Produção pela Faculdade de Engenharia de Minas Gerais (2008). Técnico em Eletrônica pelo Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Minas Gerais - CEFETMG (2006). Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Atualmente é professor do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de São Paulo (IFSP). Tem experiência na área de Engenharia de Produção, com ênfase em Gerência da produção, atuando principalmente nas linhas: Gestão de desempenho; Tecnologia de Processos Industriais; Pesquisa Operacional Aplicada.

Possui graduação em Administração de Empresas pela Faculdade do Litoral Sul Paulista (2005), mestrado em Gestão de Negócios pela Universidade Católica de Santos (2008) e doutorado em Administração pela FEA/USP (2015). Atualmente é professor do Instituto Federal de São Paulo - Campus Suzano. Tem experiência na liderança e participação em projetos de pesquisa e iniciação científica na área de Administração, com ênfase em Produção e Operações, Logística, Economia das Organizações e Economia da Educação. Tem trabalhos publicados em periódicos e eventos nacionais e internacionais. É ainda parecerista de periódicos e eventos internacionais. Wilson Yoshio Tanaka, Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP)

Possui graduação em Engenharia de Produção, Mecânica pela Faculdade de Engenharia Industrial de São Bernardo do Campo, FEI (1986). Tem experiência na área de Engenharia de Produção, com ênfase em Produção, Processos e Controle de Sistemas de Produção, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: produção, produtividade, melhoria continua e lean manufacturing. Atualmente é professor em regime de dedicação exclusiva do Instituto Federal de São Paulo - Campus Suzano, ministrando disciplinas nos cursos técnicos de administração e de graduação em tecnologia e pós graduação em Logística.

Eugênio de Felice Zampini, Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP)

Graduado em Engenharia Mecânica pela Universidade de São Paulo (1981), com especialização em Administração de Empresas pela Fundação Getúlio Vargas de São Paulo (1985) e mestrado em Administração de Empresas pela Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo da Fundação Getúlio Vargas (2000), com concentração em Administração da Produção e Operações Industriais. Cursou o Programme of Management Development do IESE Business School em Barcelona, Espanha (2007). É Professor de Ensino Básico, Técnico e Tecnológico do Instituto Federal de São Paulo, Campus de Suzano. Anteriormente, Professor Mestre Assistente da Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes, Fundação Getúlio Vargas e Fundação Dom Cabral.
